Differential Interference Contrast – DIC Microscopy:

Totally loaded DIC configuration.
DIC Magnifications: 10x, 20x, 40x, 100x.
We tested the DIC on all configured magnifications and obtained excellent textbook quality relief type images for each. What was surprising is the stunning quality of the DIC on this particular microscope. If you are looking for high-end publication quality DIC images, this microscope will fit your needs.
The mechanical stage is the DIC version capable of rotating. This is important for optimizing the DIC images.

DIC is a microscopy technique that gives relief-like images, especially with thick specimens. The 3D effect enhances visualizing structures in thick specimens better than phase. Thick specimens normally are not imaged well in phase contrast. This microscope is capable of imaging in relief or pseudo darkfield, depending on how you adjust it

Phase Contrast Microscopy:

Phase Contrast Capability. Configured on 20x, 63x, and 100x objectives.
Capable of other phase contrast magnifications with other objectives not included.
Condenser has all three phase annuli: Ph1, Ph2, Ph3.
Obtained proper centering of phase annulus rings. Includes the required tools for centering.
Includes a phase centering telescope “CT” for optimal phase alignment

Fluorescent Illumination:

X-cite eXacte metal halide fluorescence illuminator.
Illuminator includes on-off shutter as well as digital variable intensity.
These illuminators give proper collimated light so there is no tedious bulb alignment like in the HBO units.
The bulbs are also long life, rated for 2000 hours. The meter on the illuminator shows the bulb hours at only 214.
